In B.R.I.C.K. #28 The Samaritan Woman, we explore the commonly misunderstood story of the Samaritan woman at the well from John 4. Contrary to traditional teachings, there is no textual evidence to suggest the Samaritan woman was sexually immoral. This video dives into the cultural and historical context of Samaritans and marriage customs of the time. We challenge the assumptions imposed by modern religious and moral frameworks, and propose a new perspective, highlighting that her marital history and current situation do not imply any immorality. Instead, it is possible that infertility was the issue behind her multiple marriages and eventual concubinage. Yeshua’s interaction with her was not one of condemnation, but a profound moment of revelation.

Welcome to B.R.I.C.K.s: Biblical Revelations in Christ’s Kingdom!

In B.R.I.C.K. #27, I explore the fascinating connection between the name Yeshua and Joshua, and how this connection was known and understood by the Jews during Yeshua’s time. Through examining Deuteronomy 18 and various other scriptures, I show how the pattern of salvation through figures named Yeshua throughout Israel’s history. From Yeshua (Joshua) leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, to Yeshua the high priest guiding Israel after the Babylonian exile, to Yeshua the Messiah delivering us from sin, we see a clear and consistent pattern of deliverance. This B.R.I.C.K. reveals how important these patterns are in understanding the bigger picture of the Bible and the redemptive work of Yeshua.

Peter emphasizes that the prophets spoke not from their own will but as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. In this B.R.I.C.K. I tackle the common misuse of 2 Peter 3:8 to dismiss the Bible’s time statements regarding Yeshua’s return. I argue that using this verse to claim that “soon” or “quickly” could mean thousands of years is both out of context and diminishes Yahava’s ability to communicate effectively with His creation. Peter’s letters reassured early believers that Yeshua’s return was imminent, not far off. Misapplying Peter’s words to justify a long delay undermines the clear message of Scripture. Whether you agree or disagree, with “Preterism” or “Fulfilled Eschatology” 2 Peter 3:8 in context does not support “futurists” claims.

To us this is barbaric but don’t forget we are us now and not them then. This tactic, seen in various biblical accounts, was a way to undermine a leader’s authority and demonstrate power. We examine examples from the stories of Absalom, Reuben, and Adonijah to understand how this played out in Scripture and its significance in the context of control, domination, leadership and authority.
